Pannell Has 9 Pts. as No. 6 Cornell Rolls by No. 12 Princeton

Cornell wasn't done, scoring three more to extend its streak to five unanswered goals with tallies from Buczek, Mock and Pannell to make it 8-1 with 7:37 to play in the half.

Princeton got consecutive goals for the first time in the contest with a goal by Schreiber followed by a man-up goal from Jake Froccaro to make it an 8-3 contest at the 6:30 mark, but the Big Red answered immediately with Mock and Pannell teaming up for the second time on the day and Cornell took the 9-3 lead into halftime.

The teams traded goals early in the third quarter with a rocket from Buczek followed by a blast from Orban to make it 10-4 with just under 11 minutes gone. Princeton then cut the Big Red's lead to 10-6 half with back-to-back man-up goals from MacDonald with 5:48 on the clock.

Pannell ended the Tigers run with a beautiful shot that grazed right over Sanschagrin's left shoulder, but just over 30 seconds later Orban responded to make it an 11-7 game.

The Big Red won the restart and Freshour picked up the ground ball, streaked up field and scored his second of the game, and career, to restore the five-goal lead to Cornell.

A turnover by the Big Red lead to Princeton's next goal as Jack Strabo found Jeff Froccaro all alone in front of the goal on a broken play to make it 12-8 with just under three minutes remaining in the quarter. Neither team would score again and Cornell went into the final intermission with the four-goal lead.

Cornell opened the fourth quarter with the ball after a Princeton penalty in the final seconds of the third quarter and the Big Red wasted no time with a goal from Buczek, off a pass from Mock to make it 13-8 with 14:52 to play. The teams traded the next four goals before consecutive tallies from Mock pushed the lead to 16-10.

Buczek capped the scoring for Cornell and a late Princeton goal accounted for the 17-11 final.
