Rutgers Drops 15-7 Contest to Georgetown

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (April 27, 2013) In its final game of the season, Rutgers dropped a 15-7 contest to Georgetown at Yurcak Field on Saturday night. Redshirt junior A Scott Klimchak (Clark, N.J.) led the Scarlet Knights with two goals and one assist.

RU finished the season with a 2-13 record (0-6 Big East), while the Hoyas improved to 6-8 (3-3 Big East). Freshman GK Kris Alleyne (New City, N.Y.) posted 21 saves on the night, the second-best performance of his career. Klimchak recorded his ninth multi-point game of 2013. Sophomore FO Joseph Nardella (Cazenovia, N.Y.) won 12 of 24 faceoffs, while also tying his career-high with two assists.

Seven Scarlet Knights notched at least one point, while five had two or more in the game.

Georgetown held a 5-1 lead through the first quarter, with RU's goal coming from Klimchak on one of two assists in the contest from freshman A Scott Bieda (Bridgewater, N.J.). The Hoyas scored the first three goals of the second period before junior D Andrew Parilla (Wyckoff, N.J.) scored a man-down goal, the second goal of his career. Georgetown scored the final two goals of the stanza to take a 10-2 lead into the break.

The Scarlet Knights notched the first two scores of the second half, as redshirt junior Matt Klimchak (Clark, N.J.) found the back of the net on a pass from his brother Scott. Scott Klimchak followed that up with a goal at the 12:23 mark in the third quarter before the Hoyas scored four-straight goals to end the period to take a 14-4 advantage.

Georgetown recorded a goal with 5:54 remaining in the contest, before Rutgers notched the final three goals of the game, including two from freshman A Ryan Hollingsworth (Martinsville, N.J.).
