William & Mary Announces Recruiting Class for 2013-2014

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (April 29, 2013) William and Mary lacrosse head coach Brooke Ireland has announced that nine student-athletes will join the program for the 2013-14 academic year. The talented incoming class includes six midfielders, an attacker, a defender and a goalkeeper.

"I am very excited for my first recruiting class to join the Tribe program," head coach Brooke Ireland said. "These nine young women are exceptional not only on the field, but also in the classroom. I believe that they will contribute right away to our program and will build upon the foundation of our current team to earn the highest success that this program is capable of achieving. Their all around athleticism and drive, along with an already tight bond, will provide a very strong group."

Mary Catherine Curran
Berwyn, Pa. (The Episcopal Academy)
Four-year letterwinner as a midfielder for head coach Amanda Vos Strache at The Episcopal Academy ... US Lacrosse Academic All-American in 2012 ... Served as a team captain as a senior ... Garnered All-Main Line and All-Inter-Ac honors in 2012 ... Helped her team win the Inter-Ac league title three times (2010-12) and the PAISSA state championship in 2011 and 2012 ... Also lettered in soccer ... International Cum Laude Society member ... National Latin Scholar ... Member of Esse Quam Videri senior leadership council ... Served on the community outreach board from 2010-13 and the disciplinary board in 2011 ... Earned the service award in 2011 ... Member of the student council ... High Honors recipient ...
