MAAC Announces the 2013 Men's Lacrosse Teams and Awards

Buffalo, NY Marist's Connor Rice was selected MAAC Offensive Player of the Year, while Jacksonville's Peter DeLuca earned Defensive Player of the Year honors to headline the 2013 All-MAAC Teams, as voted by the league's head coaches.

Additionally, Marist's Joseph Radin was named the Rookie of the Year, Canisius' Mike Moran was voted Face-Off Specialist of the Year and Marist's Patrick Eaker and Detroit's Jordan Houtby earned Co-Long Stick Midfielders of the Year. Marist's head coach Keegan Wilkinson was chosen as the Anaconda Sports MAAC Coach of the Year.

Rice, a senior from Penfield, N.Y., leads the MAAC in assists per game (2.15) and points per game (3.62) finishing the regular season with 28 assists and 47 points. His assist per game mark is currently 12th best in the nation. Rice was named the MAAC Offensive Player of the Week twice in 2013.

DeLuca, a 6-1 junior from Millersville, leads the league and is ranked eleventh in the nation in save percentage (.570). He averaged 12.18 saves per game, third best in the league. DeLuca was named the MAAC Defensive Player of the Week on March 25.

Radin, a freshman from Long Beach, N.Y., ranks in the top-ten in the league in points per game (2.46) and assists per game (0.92). He scored a career-high four goals against MAAC foe Canisius on March 23. Radin was named MAAC Rookie of the Week five times this season.

Moran, a senior from Orchard Park, N.Y., was named Face-Off Specialist of the Year after winning .614 (143-233) of his face-offs on the season. He leads the MAAC and ranks 5th nationally in face-off percentage. Moran also ranks second in the league and 17th nationally in groundballs per game (6.62).

Eaker, a sophomore from Redding, C.T., was named Co-Long Stick Midfielder of the Year after finishing the regular season with 35 ground balls and 17 caused turnovers for the Red Foxes.

Houtby, a junior from St. Catharines, Ontario, earned the league's Long Stick Midfielder of the Year award for the third year in a row. He picked up a total of 57 ground balls this season and ranks fifth in the league in ground balls per game (4.75). Houtby also ranks eighth nationally in caused turnovers per game (2.25).

Wilkinson, currently in his 2nd season at Marist, led the Red Foxes to a 5-1 conference record and an overall mark of 10-3. Marist won a share of the regular season champions' title and earned a number one seed in the championship.

First Team All-MAAC selections include Rice and fellow teammate Jack Doherty from Marist and Siena's Colin Clive at attack. Canisius' Tim Edwards, Jacksonville's Cameron Mann and Siena's Conor Prunty are the midfielders. The defense features Detroit's Jamie Hebden, Jacksonville's Austin Curtis and Marist's Ethan Fox. Jacksonville's DeLuca is goalkeeper.
