No. 5 Syracuse Routs No. 18 Connecticut in Big East Semifinals

UConn (13-4), in the midst of its best season in school history, was making its first appearance in the Big East Championship. The Huskies are under the direction of Big East Coach of the Year Katie Woods. Junior Lauren Kahn, who scored had three points against Syracuse, including two goals, was named the Big East Midfielder of the Year.

The Huskies will await word on an at-large berth to the NCAA Championship. The selection show is on Sunday evening, May 5 at 9:00 p.m. ET.

With the win, the Orange lead the all-time series 17-0 against UConn. Syracuse will make its fifth appearance in the Big East Tournament title game. The Orange won back-to-back championships in 2007 and 2008. SU will face either Georgetown or Loyola. Georgetown is the No. 2 seed and is hosting No. 3 seed Loyola at 8:30 p.m. ET on Thursday evening.
