Selection Probabilities as of 5/04 - Division I Lacrosse Tourney

The regular season is nearly over, and the NCAA tournament selection shows are Sunday evening. In Men's Division I, teams can earn a berth in the tournament via conference automatic qualification (AQ), which is based on winning the conference tournament (many of which conclude this weekend), or by being selected at-large. See the NCAA Tournament page for details on the selection criteria, date/ticket information, and copies of the blank brackets for all six men's and women's NCAA divisions.

Larry Feldman has used ratings percentage index (RPI), quality wins (QW), and strength of schedule (SOS) data from past years to model the probabilities that teams will make the tournament based on their standing on those indices. Here is where things stand as of games played through May 4th:

Look for a final update on Sunday after the regular season concludes.
