Computer Predictions: Results for Games Played 5/03-5/05

How did the computer fare with this week's predictions? You had to ask, didn't you? It was rough sledding, and the overall record was the weakest of the season.

As a reminder, we give the computer credit for games picked correctly (of course) and for games it declares toss-ups if the margin of victory is three goals or fewer. Picks in blue below were correct; those in red were wrong. For the games that were rated as toss-ups, the margin of victory is shown along with overtimes, if any.

For men's games, the computer had its worst week, finishing with 19 of 28 correct for a 67.9% picking average. For the women's games, results were quite good, with the computer correctly calling 22 of 26 games (84.6%). For all games picked, the record was 41 of 54 (75.9%). The weekly and season-to-date tallies are in the table below.

Men's Division I continues to have the games that are hardest to predict. The computer's record there is now 71.6% (vs. 86.7% for MD2 and 85.2% for MD3). The records so far for Women's Divisions I-III are 87.0%, 93.4%, and 88.8%, respectively.
