Post University Announces Inaugural Lacrosse Recruiting Class

WATERBURY, Conn. Post University men's lacrosse head coach Jim Griffin announced a class of 28 student-athletes for the program's inaugural season in 2014. The class consists of signees from seven states, including New York, New Jersey, and California.

"This class is not just a group of talented lacrosse players, this is a group of hard-working young men that will enhance our campus and the community," said Griffin, "I look forward to the next four years with this class and I know it's one of the best I have ever put together in my coaching career."


Kyle Shannon (Stanhope, N.J./Lenape Valley) Shannon scored 96 goals and dished out 67 assists in 2012. He was named First Team All-New Jersey in 2012 and First-Team All-North New Jersey in 2011 and 2012.

"Kyle is a tremendous athlete and player and we are excited to have his talent and athleticism in our program. He is one of the top attackers in the state of New Jersey."

Tim Wright (Waterloo, N.Y.) Wright was a four-year varsity starter in high school and never missed a game in his career. He recorded 19 goals and 20 assists in 2012 and was a member of the Blaze Elite Lacrosse Club Team.

"Tim is a great all-around kid; hard working, smart lacrosse player, and gifted athlete. He will be a great threat on offense."

Jake Murphy (Levittown, N.Y./McArthur) Murphy is averaging 3.4 goals per game for McArthur High School, one of the top programs on Long Island.

"Jake has great size and lacrosse I.Q. He can shoot, finish, and can create offense."

Alex Brownlee (Skaneateles, N.Y./Skaneateles) Brownlee is a three-sport athlete at Skaneateles High School. He is a member of the Central New York Road Hawks travel team and averaged 3.5 goals per game in his junior year.

"Alex is a pure lacrosse player in every regard, a great offensive threat and high I.Q."

Jamar Minto (Uniondale, N.Y./Uniondale) - A two-year starter at Uniondale High School, Minto was selected to try out for the Empire State team.

"Jamar is a goof hard-nosed dodging attack man and he can move well inside to finish."

Joe Greene (Churchville, N.Y./Churchville Chili) Two-year starter for Churchville Chili.

"He has great size and is a duel-threat at attack and midfield. Joe is great student and athlete."


Darion Einsig (Exeter, Pa.) Einsig scored 107 career goals and was named a Junior to Watch by ESPN in 2012. He was a member of the TWIST travel team and was All-Berks County in 2011 and 2012. Einsig was also all-county in wrestling and a member of the football team.

"This kid can flat-out play midfield. Offense and defense, the total package, and is fun to watch."

Cameron Bennett (Syracuse, N.Y./Bishop Ludden) Bennett led his high school team in scoring three years in a row and scored 23 goals and had 10 assists in his junior year. He was also a member of the Finger Lakes travel team.

"Cameron is a great competitor and a smart, quick lacrosse player with great field vision."

Brendan Gaghan (Massapequa, N.Y./Farmingdale) Gaghan was a member of the 2011 New York Section 8 Championship team at Farmingdale and a N.Y. Scholar Athlete.

"Brendan has great speed and can play at attack and midfield. He will be a great addition to the program."

Jon Hanlon (Middle County, N.Y.) Hanlon was selected for the Long Island Under Armor tryouts. He was a two-sport athlete in high school and was All-Region in both soccer and lacrosse.
