Post University Announces Inaugural Lacrosse Recruiting Class

"He's a great athlete with great speed and an all-around hard worker between the lines."

Chris Cruz (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Hills) Cruz was a three-sport athlete at Wayne Hills High School. He was a member of the Tri-State Travel Lacrosse Club. Cruz picked up 67 ground balls and won 68.0% of his face-offs.

Andrew Supanich (Charlottesville, Va./Kings College) "Andrew is a strong shooter, dodger, and all-around hard worker. He will create a lot of offense and will be a strong threat for our team in the midfield."

Matthew Christian (Medford, N.Y./Patchogue-Medford) "Matt has a great stick, great speed, and is a strong dodger from up top. He has very strong field vision and pushes transition well."

Shane McKay (Hempstead, N.Y./SUNY-Cobleskill) "Shane is an extremely fast athlete with great ground ball skills, short-stick defense, and a hard shot."

Cory Boyle (Stanhope, N.J./Lenape Valley) "Cory is a skilled middle who averaged over 65% on his face-offs in high school. I am very excited to have his talent in the face-off position."

Frank Nichols Jr. (Oceanside, Calif./El Camino) "Frank is a strong student of lacrosse. He is a solid both-ways midfielder with speed and a strong outside shot."

Brendan Cassagnol (Montville, N.J.) "He is a physically strong midfielder, solid dodger and shooter."

Defense

Troy Walters (Corning, N.Y.) Walters was a three-year varsity starter at Corning and helped lead it to a state championship. He was also a member of the Corning Gaffers travel team.

"Troy is a gifted athlete with strong speed and a high lacrosse I.Q. He will be an impact on defense for us next season."

Jack Kearney (Newtown, Conn.) Kearney picked up 61 ground balls and had 20 takeaways during his junior year. He was a member of the Paragon Elite travel team.

"Jack is an energetic defenseman. He has great speed, great takeaways, and strong ground ball skills."

Andrew D'Angelo (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) "Andrew has a strong lacrosse I.Q. and is a great athlete with size. He has tremendous footwork and a talent to push he transition game."

Angel Lastra (Rockaway, N.J./Morris CC) "He is a very hard worker and brings consistent physical play to the position."

David Daras (Kirkwood, Mo./Kirkwood Academy) "Great footwork and position and a strong work ethic. I'm very excited for him to get to work for us in the fall."

Ryan Swanson (East Fishkill, N.Y./John Jay) Swanson was selected as honorable mention Poughkeepsie Journal All-Star in 2012. He was also a member of the Wappinger Warrior Travel Club and a three-sport athlete at John Jay High School.

"Ryan has great work ethic, talent, and size at defense."

Andrew Mottola (Brooklyn, N.Y./Xaverian Academy) Mottola received All-Catholic League honors at Xaverian Academy. He was a member of the Long Island Storm club and Brooklyn U-17 travel team.

"Andrew has great speed, size, and toughness. He is versatile enough to play close as well as long-stick midfielder."

Joe Cahill (Bristol, Conn./Bristol Central) "Joe has great size and is a very strong student."

Goalkeepers

Brian Beatson (Fairfax, Va./CCBC Essex) As the starting goalkeeper, Beatson won the Region XX Championship and led CCBC Essex to the NJCAA Final Four and a No. 2 ranking nationally in 2012.
