Lunney, Palladino Top the USILA's 2013 Division II, III Awards

(Baltimore, Md.) Dickinson senior Brandon Palladino (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) was honored with the USILA's Iroquois Award for Outstanding Player of the Year and named a First-Team All-American for the second straight season.

Palladino was also named the Division III Long Pole Midfielder of the Year, receiving that honor for the second straight season as well. The Red Devils placed seven players on the 2013 All-American Team, earning four spots on the First-team.

Palladino capped a truly brilliant career with an outstanding senior season, leading the Red Devils to a #2-ranking, 18 consecutive wins and a school record, fourth straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The long pole midfielder was voted the Centennial Conference Player of the Year, and became the first player in conference history to earn First-team All-Centennial honors all four years of his career.

A tremendous defensive player, Palladino played a key role on the Devils' face-off unit for four years and increased his offensive production this season with five goals and 11 assists. The senior captain controlled 275 ground balls to rank sixth all-time at Dickinson, causing 144 turnovers as well.

Palladino was selected to play in the USILA-Laxworld North/South Senior All-Star Game, in Philadelphia. A true leader and team captain, he surrendered his spot to allow his teammates the opportunity to participate. The Red Devils had four players invited to play, but each team is allowed to send only three.

The Red Devils were ranked number-two in the nation for almost the entire season. They advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA National Championship twice in the past four seasons, capturing three consecutive Centennial Conference championships. The senior class posted a remarkable record of 65-10 over four seasons.
