3d Rising - Player Evaluations from 3d Lacrosse, 6/10

#22 Ben Bechter, 2015
Regis Jesuit, Colorado
Position: Attack
Sub-Position: X Attackman/Wing Dodger
College Commitment:
Rating: Legit

On a team of shifty face up dodgers, Ben stands out. He is a high level athlete who can beat you from anywhere on the field: up top, the wing, or from X. After breaking his defender's ankles he can finish, feed, or blow one by the goalie with a huge time and room side arm rip. He also has the explosiveness and speed to separate from defenders with ease. Ben is such a tenacious athlete that he even plays on the wing on face offs despite being the most diminutive player on the field.

#25 Connor Shea, 2015
Regis Jesuit, Colorado
Position: Midfield
Sub-Position: Two-Way/Alley Dodger
College Commitment:
Rating: Watch List

Connor was primarily used as a defensive midfielder this year. However, he has the size, speed, and athleticism to become an offensive threat with some improved skill. On a team loaded with shifty wing dodging middies a big down-hill alley dodger would give defenses a different look.

#27 Alec Barnes, 2016
Regis Jesuit, Colorado
Position: Midfield
Sub-Position: FOGO/Two-Way
College Commitment:
Rating: Legit

Alec is going to be a beast. He is already a proficient face off man who stays and plays on the first line. Alec is a split dodger up top with a quick change of direction. He creates good looks for himself and is not afraid to pull the trigger. Alec may be confident but he still has a few thousand reps in front of him before his skill approaches the level of his swagger. He is an impressive athlete who can open his hips and run with anyone in the open field.

#1 Ben Adams, 2015
Regis Jesuit, Colorado
Position: Goalie
Sub-Position: Quick Reflex
College Commitment:
Rating: Player

Ben is a quality goalie who sees the ball well and makes saves using sound technique. He is better on low shots than high and is susceptible to off stick high shots. Ben handles the ball with great skill and is constantly faking during the clear. He is an emotional player who needs to work on being more even keeled through the ups and downs of a game.

#2 Bret Quartuccio, 2015
Regis Jesuit, Colorado
Position: Goalie
Sub-Position: Quick Reflex
College Commitment: Air Force
Rating: Legit

Bret is a really solid young goalie. He is technically sound, sees the ball well, and has quick hands and feet. Bret has a tendency to overstep on low shots and become unbalanced by not matching his front foot's movement with his back foot. Bret is a patient clearer who does not make many mistakes but does not create much transition either.

#15 Ian Desmond, 2016
Regis Jesuit, Colorado
Position: Defense
Sub-Position: On-Ball Cover Guy
College Commitment:
Rating: Legit

Ian is listed as a D/DM but was used primarily as a short stick defensive midfielder and a face off man. He is a big, athletic kid who plays excellent position defense and uses violent cross checks to keep his man underneath. Projecting forward, one can easily foresee Ian becoming a dominant long pole. He can also face off and is effective in popping the ball forward to himself for a fast break.

#10 Cole Boland, 2016
Regis Jesuit, Colorado
Position: Midfielder
Sub-Position: Wing Dodger/Two-Way
College Commitment:
Rating: Legit

Cole is a smooth athlete who moves with grace on the field. He is a shifty face up dodger with a greasy change of direction and an explosive first step. Cole is primarily a facilitator for others and rarely dodges to create his own shot.
