Stetson Lacrosse Announces Eight Newcomers for 2014 Season

A Floridian, Lozano comes to Stetson via Key Largo. She helped lead Coral Shores High School to a 31-11 record over the last three years, culminating in a trio of district championships. Scoring 50 goals as a sophomore, and 90 goals as a junior, Lozano was named to the ESPN Rise Watch List for 2013. She has been among the national leaders for goals scored, and totaled 11 of her team's 14 in a single game in 2012.

"I knew Julia was the perfect fit for Stetson in our first meeting," Moore said. "She exemplifies the drive, work ethic, ability, and personality of the program. She is a positive person and possesses loads of potential in this sport. I see Julia growing in skill by leaps and bounds in a very short time, as well as being a great offensive threat."

Also from the Sunshine State, Wittmeier hails from Parkland, attending St. Thomas Aquinas in Ft. Lauderdale. As team captain, she helped lead the squad to its first ever district title in 2013. Recognized by the Miami Herald as one of the top players in the area, Wittmeier has also been an all-district, all-county, and all-league honoree with the Raiders.

"Christina has great potential and I am psyched to work with her and have her in our program," said Moore. "She shows great pride in Stetson and will fit in very well within our program, both on and off the field. She has a lot to contribute and I am confident that she will."

Finally, Maguire completes the trio of newcomers from the state of Maryland. A native of Bel Air, Maguire played two years of lacrosse at the John Carroll School, where she was an honor student and a member of the Spanish Honor Society. Maguire also received a Cumulative Academic Award for keeping all grades above 90 percent for multiples years in a row.

"Sam comes from a top high school and club team in Maryland and will bring a great perspective to our program," Moore said. "I am thrilled that Sam decided on Stetson, and I'm excited to coach her. I know she has great potential and the ability to be an impactful player. She, along with her classmates, has a great level of lacrosse experience to build off of."
