Mercyhurst Signs Five to Letters of Intent for the 2014 Season

ERIE, Pa.- Mercyhurst women's lacrosse head coach Cecil C. Pilson has announced that Janelle Williams signed a National Letter of Intent for the upcoming 2014 season on Tuesday.

Williams, a 2013 graduate of Mater Dei (Calif.) High, was named a US Lacrosse Girls High School All-American and a US Lacrosse Academic All-American this past season. The 5'9" midfielder was also chosen 2013 Mater Dei High School MVP, First Team All-Trinity League, Trinity League Defensive Player of the Year, and First Team All-Orange County.

"I am excited to welcome Janelle to the Lakers lacrosse family," Pilson said. "She is a tall, athletic, and all-around lacrosse player that will fit in very well within our program. Her, height, speed, and athleticism will greatly help us on the draw circle and all over the field."

Coach Cecil Pilson's squad won 12 games in 2013, marking the sixth straight season with double-digit victories for the Lakers.
