Mariano No Longer Head Lacrosse Coach at Sacred Heart

The Department of Athletics at Sacred Heart University announced at end of last week that head men's lacrosse coach Tom Mariano was "no longer with the University" and that the department would begin a search for his replacement.

Mariano had been SHU's head coach for 17 seasons, having served in that role at Marist before taking over the Pioneer program.

Sacred Heart released nothing more than the brief statement mentioned above. LaxPower received an e-mail from someone not directly connected with the university which said there was a review of the program by the new athletic director and that former players were involved in the process.
