Aimee LeClair Named New Head Lacrosse Coach at Wesley

DOVER, Del. Aimee LeClair has been named the Wesley College head women's lacrosse coach, it was announced by Director of Athletics Mike Drass on Wednesday morning. LeClair, who comes to Dover after serving as head coach at Division II Urbana University (Ohio) the last two years, replaces Debbie Windett who had been with the Wolverines the last four seasons and won a program-high 28 games.

"I want to thank Mike Drass and Wesley College for this wonderful opportunity," said LeClair. "I am looking forward to creating strong traditions and to taking Wesley College women's lacrosse up the ranks in the Capital Athletic Conference."

In her two years as head coach of the Blue Knights program, LeClair helped a pair of players earn Division II All-Independent Team honors in 2012 and another receive All-GLIAC recognition in 2013. LeClair's teams were also very successful in the classroom with five players named to the All-GLIAC All-Academic Team this past year. LeClair also served as the assistant sports information director at Urbana.

LeClair took over Urbana's program following the 2011 season, its inaugural year as a varsity program, after playing collegiately at the University of South Florida and Tiffin University. While enrolled at Tiffin and pursuing her Masters of Business Administration, LeClair started all 15 games in goal and led the team in save percentage and goals against average.

With her athletic eligibility complete, LeClair assisted the Dragons during the 2011 season and helped the team win five more games than in the previous season.
