Johnson & Wales Names Caitlin Hansen as Head Lacrosse Coach

Providence, R.I. Johnson & Wales University has named Caitlin Hansen as head women's lacrosse coach, announced by Mel Graf, Associate Dean and Executive Director of Athletics. Hansen is the first women's lacrosse coach in the history of the JWU Wildcat program. The sport will play their inaugural season in the spring of 2014 and become the school's 20th varsity program.

"We're enthused to have Caitlin with us to start our first varsity season," said Graf. "She comes here with considerable playing and coaching experience and I know she'll do a great job recruiting and mentoring the Wildcats."

"I'm very excited to get this opportunity to coach at Johnson & Wales University," said Hansen. "I'm really looking forward to putting the women's lacrosse program on the map."

Hansen comes to JWU after spending three seasons as an assistant coach at Bryant University. The 2008 graduate of Bryant was a two-time All-Northeast 10 selection and All-New England honoree. She received her Master's in Communication Management from Emerson in 2011.
