Bayhawks Trade Grant, Jr. and Simon to Outlaws for Mundorf

ANNAPOLIS, MD – Attackman Brendan Mundorf has been acquired by the Bayhawks in a trade with the Denver Outlaws, according to head coach Dave Cottle. In exchange for Mundorf, Denver will receive attackman John Grant, Jr. and defenseman Michael Simon and the 16th pick in the 2014 Collegiate Draft.

"We have been trying to get Brendan for the last four years and are excited to finally be able to keep him here locally," Cottle stated. "He plays with great competitive toughness and we are reuniting him with his college teammate Drew Westervelt."

Mundorf (UMBC) was drafted 21st overall by Denver in the 2006 MLL Collegiate Draft. Over his 90 game career with the Outlaws, the Ellicott City, MD native has tallied 347 points on 229 goals and 118 assists. A five-time MLL All-Star, Mundorf also plays in the NLL for the Philadelphia Wings and was a member of the 2006 and 2010 World Lacrosse Championship team.

"First of all I'd like to say that my time in Denver was very special," Mundorf said. "I want to thanks the fans and my teammates for a great 8 years there. I am excited about moving to the Bayhawks. I know the franchise well and I have a lot of friends on the team. I am looking forward to playing at home and gearing up for another successful season.

"I am very lucky to have had the opportunity to coach both John Grant, Jr. and Mike Simon," Cottle added. "They were great teammates and excellent people. Both of these guys contributed heavily to the success of the Bayhawks. Simon was a member of all three Chesapeake championships (2010, 2012, 2013) and Grant has been a stand out helping us pull away in pivotal games. Grant also plays for the Colorado Mammoth (NLL) and is living there now so it makes sense geographically for him."
