Fairfield WLax Tourney to Benefit CT Food Bank

Fairfield University begins its fall competition schedule on Saturday, September 28 with a practice format scrimmage at Central Connecticut State University. It is the first of four dates this fall that the Stags will take on intercollegiate competition.

Highlighting the fall schedule is the Connecticut Open Women's Lacrosse Tournament hosted by Fairfield this season. The Stags welcome four of the state's women's lacrosse teams Quinnipiac, Sacred Heart, UConn and Yale to campus on October 6 for nearly 11 hours' worth of scrimmages. All five teams will play each other in 55 minute scrimmages on Alumni and University Fields.

Admission is free to the tournament and the teams will be collecting donations for the Connecticut Food Bank. Fans are encouraged to bring nonperishable items to donate and collection tables will be set up on both field. In addition, Fairfield will be accepting donations at Walsh Athletic Center office 233 beginning Monday, September 30.

On October 12 the Stags will travel to New Jersey for the Princeton Lacrosse Fall Connection at Class of 1952 Stadium. Fairfield will take on UConn, Villanova, Princeton and Lafayette in 30 minute running clock periods beginning at 10:40 a.m. The final scrimmage, versus Lafayette, will begin at 2:45 p.m.

Fairfield will play its annual Alumni Game on University Field at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, before concluding the fall schedule the following day in Manhasset, N.Y. While the final schedule is still being completed, the Stags will be playing Stony Brook, Hofstra, Adelphi and Lafayette at Manhasset High School.
