VMI Lacrosse Announces Staffing Change and Two Additions

One of VMI's all-time top offensive threats, Long became VMI's 16th player in the 100-point club and is ranked 14th all-time in career points. With back-to-back 40-point seasons in 2011 and 2012, Long capped his career with 107 career points on a balanced 55 goals and 52 assists. In 2012, he led VMI in all three scoring categories with 42 points on 24 goals and 18 assists. He also led the Institute in assists as a junior with 22.

Long is ranked fifth all-time at VMI with 56 points in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference games, netting 30 league goals and 26 assists. He is sixth all-time with 30 MAAC goals and fifth with 26 conference assists. In his senior season, Long became the first Keydet to be named first team All-MAAC since Tim Moran in 2010.

Following graduation, Long was taken by the Rochester Rattlers of Major League Lacrosse in the Supplemental Draft. He has spent the last two seasons on the Rattlers' practice roster.

VMI opens its fall slate with the highly-anticipated alumni game this Saturday evening at Drill Field #2 on North Post. The team welcomes back nearly 30 alumni for the 5:30 p.m., following the Institute's home football game against Robert Morris.
