A three-sport athlete (football and cross country), the midfielder was named All-Nassau County, Academic All-Conference and Team MVP his senior year after leading the squad in points (44) on 27 goals and 17 assists and made the All-Conference team as a junior, one year after helping his team to the 2011 NYS Class A Championship.

Wilcox was a member of the NYS Section 6 Championship Hamburg High School lacrosse team that advanced to the Class B state semifinals last year, earning numerous individual accolades along the way. The midfielder was named All-Western New York (WNY), All-League for Section 6 Class B and Hamburg Offensive MVP while also being recognized with an invitation to the WNY Senior All-Star Game and the NYS Scholar-Athlete Award. He capped his senior year with a 56-point campaign, scoring 38 goals and making 18 assists while also winning 63 percent of his faceoffs.
