Bryant Welcomes Lacrosse Recruiting Class of 2017

SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- Head coach Jill DePetris and Bryant University welcome nine freshmen to the roster this fall, as the Bulldogs prepare for another push toward a Northeast Conference championship in 2013-14.

The Class of 2017 provides a heavy reinforcement for the midfield ranks and consists of five midfielders, two defenders, an attack and a goalie. The nonet hails from four states and includes a homegrown talent in Rumford, R.I., native Kaycee Asquith. Five others arrive in Smithfield from the Empire State, while two come from nearby Massachusetts and one calls Pennsylvania home.

The group completes the 25-player roster entering the team's second official season at the Division I level, after the Black and Gold advanced to the NEC Tournament Championship in 2013.

"I think this class brings in a lot of grit, hard work and speed that will help take our team to the next level this season," said DePetris. "Add that to the talent we have returning from last year's roster that saw so much success in our first season eligible at the Division I level, and I am excited to see what we can accomplish this spring."
