Iona Hosting Play 4Kay 7v7 Youth Tournament

NEW ROCHELLE, NY - Iona College lacrosse coach Michelle Mason announced the opening of registration for the Play 4Kay 7v7 Youth Lacrosse Tournament, set for October 27th on Iona's Mazzella Field.

"We are excited to announce the partnership with the Kay Yow Cancer Fund for our annual 7v7 tournament," said Mason. "October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, so it is fitting that we donate our tournament to a fund that is dedicated to the research and awareness of all women's cancers. Our goal is to join the lacrosse community together to raise funds to help fight to find a cure."

The tournament will be open to elementary and middle school players, from grades three through eight. Both teams and free agents can register to play.

There is a $600 fee per team, and $65 fee per free agent. Rosters are to be capped at 12 players, and teams must provide a goalie. Free agents will be placed on "house" teams within the appropriate age brackets. Registration will remain open until October 24th.

This event will benefit the Kay Yow Fund, which funds research for all women's cancers. Teams will have personal fundraising pages through kayyow.com and will be encouraged to hit fundraising goals. Special edition Nike gear will be available for purchase, with 70% of proceeds going to the fund. Top Side Lacrosse has come on as a corporate sponsor for this event and will be present with a large selection of lacrosse apparel and gear.
