Florida Signs 10 Lacrosse Recruits for the 2015 Season

GAINESVILLE, Fla. The University of Florida Lacrosse program and head coach Amanda O'Leary are proud to announce the signing of 10 future Gators to National Letters of Intent. The Gators welcome Morgan Bracken, Christiana Butz, Olivia Cole, Brenna Connolly, CeCe Finney, Aniya Flanagan, Katharine Hamer, Bella O'Connor, Allie Pavinelli and Shayna Pirreca to the Florida lacrosse class of 2018.

"We are proud to announce the 10 Student-Athletes in the Florida Lacrosse Class of 2018," said O'Leary. "They are an athletic, talented and well-balanced group of young women who will continue the successful tradition of Florida Athletics. We welcome them to the Florida family and are looking forward to their arrival on campus."

Morgan Bracken is a two-year member of the Notre Dame Preparatory lacrosse team under head coach Mary Bartel. Bracken has also spent six years playing for TLC Lacrosse under head coach Kelly Swift. She also plays basketball and soccer for Notre Dame and is a manager for the field hockey team.

Christiana Butz is a five-year member of the Saint Edwards lacrosse team, coached by Don Balch. Butz helped Saint Edwards to the FHSAA District 8 finals in 2009 and 2010, District 18 finals in 2012, District 9 semifinals in 2011 and District 23 semifinals in 2013. She was a 2011 and 2012 First Team All-Area selection, as well as named to the 2012 All-Region Second Team and South Florida all-League Third Team. Butz was a member of the South Florida National team in 2011 and 2012. She is a member of the honor roll and dean's list and also plays golf, soccer and volleyball for Saint Edwards. Additionally, her brother, Andrew, was a member of the men's tennis team from 2010-2012.

Olivia Cole has been a member of the Bishop Ireton lacrosse team for three years and is coached by Rick Sofield. Cole has helped Bishop Ireton to appearances in the 2013 WCAC and 2012 VISAA finals as well as the 2013 VISAA and 2012 WCAC semifinals. She is a 2013 First Team US Lacrosse All-American, an Under Armour Underclass DC All-Star and a2013 DC Metro Team 1 selection. Cole was named to the 2013 VISAA and WCAC Second Teams, as well as being a 2013 Washington Post All-Met Honorable Mention and a 2012 WCAC Honorable Mention. She also spent three years in the goal for head coach Katie McLaughlin for the Capital Lacrosse Club.

Brenna Connolly is a five-year letter winner for Wantagh lacrosse, where she plays for coach Bobbi Colavita. She has been selected to the 2013 NY Metro Team and was a 2013 All-County selection. Connolly has spent five years with Liberty Lacrosse, under coach Danielle Gallagher, and assisted Liberty to the 2013 Northern Rise Girls Lacrosse Showcase Championship. She is also a five-year letter winner and All-County selection for Wantagh soccer.

CeCe Finney is a four-year member of the Roland Park Country School lacrosse team, where she is coached by Kristin Nicolini. She has been named a 2013 IAAM First Team All-American and a 2013 IAAM A-Conference Lacrosse All-Star, as well as being a 2013 All-Metro First Team Selection, a 2013 Baltimore Messenger First Team All-Star and a 2012 Baltimore Sun First team Honorable Mention. She is also a member of the Roland Park track and volleyball teams, helping volleyball to a 2013 B-Conference championship. Finney has played for Kelly Swift's TLC Lacrosse team for seven years, helping them to a 2012 Champions Cup finals appearance, a 2011 Americans Showcase championship and a 2010 Lax for the Cure championship.
