Two Seniors Tabbed as 2014 Lacrosse Captains for Manhattan

RIVERDALE, N.Y. Manhattan women's lacrosse seniors Carly Eskenazi and Kelsey Rehain were named team captains for the upcoming 2014 season as announced by head coach Elizabeth Weber.

"I am excited for both Kelsey and Carly to lead us into the 2014 season," said Weber. "They are awesome teammates, with great character and work ethic. Each brings a different style of leadership to the team."

Eskenazi, a co-captain last year, started all 17 games last year for the Jaspers. She was tied for team high in points with 25 while leading the squad in goals with 22. She also set career highs in draw controls (10) and ground balls (18) while being named to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) All-Academic Team.

Rehain has been a consistent contributor to the team since her arrival in Riverdale. Last year she saw time in every game, making 16 starts. An attack midfielder, she led the Jaspers in assists with 10 while ranking second on the team in points with 22. She also picked up 14 ground balls and won 11 draw controls and was a member of the MAAC All-Academic Team.

Manhattan begins its 2014 slate on Sat., Feb., 15 when the team travels to Piscataway, N.J. to take on Rutgers.
