St. Andrews Appoints Joe Wilson as Assistant Lacrosse Coach

Laurinburg, NC - St. Andrews University lacrosse head coach Chris Sherman is happy to announce the hiring of Joe Wilson to fill the assistant coach vacancy. Wilson will arrive on campus in January and take over a potent St. Andrews offense.

He will bring with him his experiences from multiple up-and-coming Division III lacrosse programs. While serving as an assistant at King's College (Wilkes-Barre, PA) for the 2013 season, Wilson aided in the team's 10-4 season and advanced to the MAC Freedom Conference Tournament Championship.

In 2012 Wilson served as the offensive coordinator for Western Reserve Academy (OH), where his offense led the team to 12 victories on the season. In 2010 Wilson served as an assistant coach at Sewanee (TN), where he worked hard in the collegiate coaching ranks helping establish a very young program.

"After spending time some time with Coach Wilson," Sherman commented that "it was apparent that we share very similar work ethics, value education, and coaching philosophies, especially in mentoring young men and developing the skills of student athletes. I am very excited to have Coach Wilson join the coaching staff and bring his experience of the game to our talented team here at St. Andrews."

The 2014 men's lacrosse season will get underway on February 1, when the Knights host Tennessee Wesleyan College.
