Niagara Lacrosse Welcomes Seven NLI Signees for 2015

NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. Niagara lacrosse head coach Wendy Stone announced the signing of seven players to national letters of intent. The group will enroll at Niagara in the fall of 2014.

The team will welcome Megan Breau, Samantha Brill, Jillian Ford, Grace Hunt, Cailyn Negus, Olivia Renner and Jordan Wilson for the 2015 season.

We are very excited to announce the signing of these seven student-athletes," Stone said.

"The signing of this, our second, recruiting class represents another step forward for our program as we work to take the Niagara Women's Lacrosse program to new heights. We are expecting big things from this group on the field, in the classroom and within the Niagara community. We could not be happier to officially welcome them into the Purple Eagle Lacrosse Family."

Megan Breau │ Attack/Midfield │ 5-5 │ Buffalo, N.Y. │ Honeoye Falls Lima
Helped Honeoye Falls-Lima to back-to-back New York State Championship appearances, where the Cougars were victorious in 2012.

Samantha Brill │ Midfield │ 5-5 │ West Henrietta, N.Y. │ Rush Henrietta
Second team all-country as a junior.
Coaches award in soccer as a senior.

Jillian Ford │ Midfield │ 5-3 │ Hamburg, N.Y. │ Hamburg
In three years for Hamburg, Ford scored 99 goals and 14 assists for 113 points.
The two-time Erie County Interscholastic Conference First Team honoree was also named to the All-Western New York Lacrosse team as a junior.
Received Honorable Mention All-American honors as a junior.
A three-year WNY Rochester National Tournament team member.

Named to the second team Onondaga High School League Liberty League team as a junior.
Three-time first team doubles for tennis.
The three-time member of the first team doubles for tennis, was named most valuable player for tennis her final season.
Most tennis match wins (53) in the history of Marcellus tennis (boys and girls).
Three-sport athlete (lacrosse, tennis and basketball).

Cailyn Negus │ Midfield │ 5-5 │ Syracuse, N.Y. │ West Genesee
Named to the second team all-league her junior year.
A two-sport athlete (soccer and lacrosse).

Olivia Renner │ Midfield │ 5-2 │ East Rochester, N.Y.│ East Rochester
A first team all-league honoree as a junior.
Received honorable mention for All-Greater Rochester as a junior.
Three-sport athlete (lacrosse, basketball and soccer).

Jordan Wilson │ Defense/Midfield │ 5-4 │ Vestal, N.Y. │ Seton Catholic Central
Was a member of the Upstate National Team as a sophomore and junior.
The two-time first team Section 4 selection captained the lacrosse team for a pair of seasons.
A second-team all-star in Section 4 Division II as a junior.
The second team Section 4 honoree as a freshman was also selected as most improved player her rookie season.
Received the D.I.G Award (Desire Intensity Grit) as a sophomore.
Led the Saints in assists twice as a sophomore and junior.
Three-sport athlete (lacrosse, basketball and soccer).
