William & Mary Announces the Tribe's 2014 Lacrosse Schedule

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (Dec. 16, 2013)-William and Mary lacrosse head coach Hillary Fratzke has announced the Tribe's schedule for the upcoming 2014 season.

In addition to playing 16 regular-season contests, W&M will host the Colonial Athletic Association Championships at Martin Family Stadium at Albert-Daly Field. The regular-season slate includes 10 home games, which equals the most in program history (2002).

Highlighting the schedule are four games against teams that competed in the 2013 NCAA Tournament, including a pair of opponents that advanced to the national quarterfinals Maryland and Duke.

The Tribe will open its campaign with three consecutive home games Duke (Feb. 16), Louisville (Feb. 23) and Coastal Carolina (March 1). While the W&M-Duke series includes 17 previous meetings, the contests versus Louisville and Coastal Carolina will mark the first-ever match-ups between the programs.

Following a road game at Maryland (March 5), last season's NCAA runner-up, the College will return to Williamsburg for home contests against Virginia Tech (March 15) and Albany (March 18). While W&M has dominated the all-time series versus VT, winning five of the teams' six meetings, the Tribe has never squared off against UA.

The College will close out the month of March with a pair of road games Richmond (March 21) and Ohio State (March 29) that bookend a home contest versus Longwood (March 25). The Tribe controls its all-time series with UR (42-7-1) and LU (5-2), while it owns a 1-1 record against OSU.

W&M's conference slate includes just five games this season and will feature three road contests James Madison (April 5), Towson (April 11) and Delaware (April 13) before home match-ups with Hofstra (April 18) and Drexel (April 20).

The Tribe will wrap up the regular season when it hosts former league foe Old Dominion for Senior Day on April 26.

W&M will look to qualify for its fifth CAA Championship in the last seven seasons when the league's top four teams compete for the title on May 2 and 4 at Martin Family Stadium at Albert-Daly Field.
