Elizabethtown's Interim Lacrosse Staff to Coach Through Spring

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - Interim women's lacrosse coach Danielle Seling and interim assistant coach Linda Delaney will remain with Elizabethtown College through its first season as a member of the Landmark Conference, Director of Athletics Nancy Latimore announced Thursday.

Seling got her coaching start at Elizabethtown, where she was an assistant under Mike Faith in 2009 and 2010. The Blue Jays achieved their highest winning percentage in program history (.842) with a 16-3 record and made their second appearance in the Middle Atlantic Conference Final during her first season.

In 2010, E-town women's lacrosse won its first-ever MAC Championship when it went a perfect 12-0 in league play and defeated FDU-Florham, 11-4, at Wolf Field for the title. The Blue Jays also won their first NCAA Division III Tournament game, 13-12, over No. 14 Washington & Lee, before bowing out in the second round against 19th-ranked Mary Washington.

The Jays went 32-8 overall and were unbeaten in 23 league games in Seling's two seasons at Elizabethtown.

Seling, a native of Whiteford, Md., was a three-year letterwinner at York (Pa.) College, where she played on the Spartans' inaugural team in 2006. After two seasons as Elizabethtown's assistant coach, she earned her first head coaching job at Susquehannock High School. Seling led the Warriors to District 3 Tournament appearances in back-to-back seasons. This past season, Seling returned to her alma mater as an assistant to Jen Muston.

Delaney, a two-time field hockey All-American at Lynchburg College, served as an assistant with the Gwynedd-Mercy College field hockey team in 2012.

Delaney brings vast experience to the Blue Jays, having assisted successful programs in the past. She spent the 2004 and 2005 seasons as an assistant with the women's lacrosse team at Washington and Lee University, and was a volunteer assistant at her alma mater in 2008.

Elizabethtown will resume its search for a permanent head coach following the 2014 season. The Blue Jays open their season Feb. 18 at Dickinson.
