New Hampshire Announces Lacrosse Schedule for 2014

DURHAM, N.H. University of New Hampshire, led by second-year head coach Sarah Albrecht, will play a 16-game regular-season schedule in 2014 highlighted by nine home games and five America East conference games.

For the second consecutive year, UNH opens the season against Hofstra University when the Wildcats play host to the Pride on Saturday, Feb. 15 (12:00 p.m.). The 'Cats then travel to play Boston College on Feb. 19 (4:00 p.m.) and end the month Feb. 22 at home against intrastate rival Dartmouth College (1:00 p.m.), both of whom advanced to the NCAA tournament a year ago.

New Hampshire kicks March off with a home game against Lehigh on the 1st (1:00 p.m.); these programs have met just once and the Mountain Hawks prevailed at home in 2012. UNH's three-game homestand concludes March 5 (4:00 p.m.) vs. UConn, another team that competed in the 2013 NCAA tourney.

The 'Cats play another team that advanced to last year's NCAA championship with a March 8 (3:00 p.m.) road game against UMass. UNH continues on the road with a March 10 (3:00 p.m.) match-up at Iona College, a team the Wildcats defeated 16-0 last season.

UNH returns home to play host to Fairfield University on March 14 (3:00 p.m.) and first-year program University of Colorado on March 16 (12:00 p.m.).

The Wildcats travel to play Drexel University, a team they haven't faced since the Dragons left the America East conference following the 2001 season, on March 23 (2:00 p.m.) before ending the month at home for their league opener against the University of Vermont on March 29 (1:00 p.m.).

New Hampshire battles former conference foe Boston University on April 2 (4:00 p.m.) and is also away against UMBC on April 5 (12:00 p.m.). One week later, the 'Cats are home against Binghamton University (April 12, 12:00 p.m.) and the following week they travel to play defending America East champion Stony Brook University on April 19 (1:00 p.m.).

UNH's stretch of four consecutive conference games and the 2014 regular season ends April 26 (12:00 p.m.) at home against the University at Albany.
