Hartwick Adds Two Assistants to the Lacrosse Coaching Staff

ONEONTA, NY- Hartwick head lacrosse coach Bill Bjorness, who enters his 16th season at helm of the men's program, has added two assistant coaches to his staff. Jason Ohnsman and Rich Petillo join Bjorness on the sidelines this season.

Ohnsman, a native of Ballston Spa, NY, comes to Hartwick from Springfield College where he was an assistant coach with the men's lacrosse team from 2012-2013. He also was a head coach with Ballston Spa Youth Lacrosse in the summer of 2013.

A member of the Pride as a defender in 2011 and 2012, Ohnsman played in 35 games with 23 starts. He totaled 40 ground balls and 28 caused turnovers. During his time as a player and assistant coach, Springfield posted a 35-18 record, won three Pilgrim League Championships, and qualified for three NCAA Tournaments. Ohnsman graduated from Springfield in the spring of 2013 with a degree in Criminal Justice.

Petillo, who hails from Holbrook, NY, was most recently the head varsity lacrosse coach at Harborfields High School on Long Island. Prior to that, he was an assistant lacrosse coach with Sachem North High School.

Since 2007, he has been the owner of Nor'Easter Lax. He organizes and operates lacrosse summer leagues for men and women as well as a summer camp for K-8 and a high school recruiting showcase.

Petillo has a BBA in Business Computer Information Systems from Hofstra University. While at Hofstra, he was a three-year starter on the football team and a four-year starter on the lacrosse team. He also served as a captain of both squads.
