Centennial Conference 2014 Preseason Lacrosse Coaches' Poll

LANCASTER, Pa. After reaching the semifinals of the Centennial Conference tournament last season, Gettysburg College was picked to finish third in the conference's preseason coaches poll, it was announced Tuesday.

The poll is voted on by the conference's nine head coaches, who could not vote for their own team. Defending conference champion Dickinson College was ranked No. 1, receiving 64 points and eight of the nine first-place votes. Washington College was slotted second, earning 53 points, while the Bullets collected 49 points and one first-place vote.

The Bullets finished the 2013 season 9-7 and 5-3 in the Centennial Conference, tying Washington for third place. Gettysburg was ranked in three different national polls this preseason, as they were tabbed No. 17 by Inside Lacrosse and No. 20 by both Lacrosse Magazine and the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association.

The Orange and Blue play their season opener this Saturday, when they host Messiah College in a non-conference tilt at 1:00 p.m.
