Mercyhurst Signs Four Recruits to NLIs for the 2015 Season

ERIE, Pa. - Mercyhurst has announced the signing of four student-athletes for the Class of 2018. Kristin Anderson, Bella Corieri, Megan Lyons, and Libby Montanye will join the Lakers for the 2015 season.

"We're excited to welcome four young women to our program," said coach Cecil Pilson. "Their athleticism will allow them to compete immediately at our level."

Anderson is a Manorville, New York, native. She is a senior at Eastport South Manor High, where she has played lacrosse and basketball. The 6-2 attack/midfielder was named to the All-Tournament Team in lacrosse as a junior. Anderson also earned her team's Unsung Hero Award last year.

"Inch by inch, Kristin excels in the draw circle and she is a talented attacker," said Pilson. "She will make an immediate impact on the field."

Corieri, a native of Brewerton, New York, plays at Christian Brother's Academy. The 5-7 goalkeeper has played lacrosse and basketball, helping her lacrosse team to the 2013 Class B Championship.

"Bella is a quick, athletic goalkeeper, who has a high lacrosse IQ," said Pilson. "She will look to challenge for playing time in the crease right away."

Lyons is from Chagrin Falls, Ohio. She has played lacrosse, soccer and cross country at Kenston High. The 5-6 midfielder has started every year of her lacrosse career, picking up Northeast Ohio All-Region Honorable Mention accolades as a junior.

"Megan is an athletic workhorse in the midfield. She brings a strong presence offensively and defensively," said Pilson.

Montanye is a 5-7 midfielder. A Baltimore, Maryland, native, she plays at Franklin High. Montanye has started each year of her career, being named team captain twice. She was selected All-Division in 2013.

"Libby is a versatile midfielder who will compete for time in the draw circle and add a spark offensively with her ability to finish," said Pilson.

Mercyhurst has advanced to five straight Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Tournaments entering the 2014 season. Last season, the Lakers won 12 games. They open this year on March 5, when Roberts Wesleyan visits Tullio Field.
