Brevard Can't Keep Pace with Young Harris

BREVARD, N.C.- The Brevard College (0-2) women's lacrosse team hosted the Young Harris Mountain Lions (1-3) in their second game of the season losing 20-4 on Tuesday, February 25 at Brevard Lacrosse field.

The Tornados put their first goal in for the season at the 26:12 mark after Julia Gasston placed in a goal past Young Harris Goalie Sarah Nudelman. The goal tied the score at 1-1 for the only time during the game.

After Young Harris expanded their one goal to four, Brevard's Gasston passed the ball over to teammate Megyn Terrell for a quick stick goal to advance the score to 4-2.

Ontario native, Madison Ellis led the Tornados with two back-to-back goals during the 8:00 minute mark finishing BC's four goals for the game.

Emily Klapthor and Madison Ellis led Brevard in groundballs for the team with three each.

Young Harris led the Tornados 12-4 going into the second half and quickly contributed two back-to-back goals from Jordana Freitas.

Brevard was unable to take advantage of a man-up situation after Young Harris Jade Smith received the only yellow card for the game due to a slashing call.

Brevard will travel to Catawba College on Saturday, March 1 for a 4:00 p.m. start at Shuford Stadium.
