Lampson Joins the William Smith Lacrosse Coaching Staff

William Smith lacrosse head coach Brighde Dougherty recently announced that Rebecca Lampson will join the Heron staff as a part-time assistant coach this year.

"We're extremely excited to have Rebecca join our staff," said Dougherty. "As a successful player at RIT, she brings a great deal of experience to our program. We look forward to having her work with our attack and help us to continue in our leadership development."

Lampson comes to William Smith after graduating from Rochester Institute of Technology in May of 2012. She was a four-year member of the Tigers' lacrosse team. The 2012 IWLCA All-Region and All-Liberty League selection completed her lacrosse career with 196 points on 132 goals and 64 assists.

Lampson ranks second on RIT's career list for points and draws, as well as, third in assists and fourth in goals. She capped her career registering 62 goals and 24 assists for 86 points in her senior season. She ranks third on the Tigers' list for goals in a season and points in a season. RIT's Female Senior Athlete of the Year in 2012 was also a three-year captain.

A native of Penn Yan, N.Y., Lampson earned a bachelor's degree in new media marketing with a concentration in environmental studies. She currently works at Seneca Farms where she assists in their marketing efforts as well as customer service.

The Herons finished the 2013 season with a 10-7 overall record and a 7-2 mark in the Liberty League. William Smith earned a berth in the Liberty League tournament for the second year in a row.
