Daly's Late Goal Lifts #11 Pfeiffer to Victory over Regis

MISENHEIMER, NC- Sarah Daly's goal with 4:26 left in the second half proved to be the game-winner as the No. 11 Pfeiffer women's lacrosse team (3-1) narrowly defeated Regis (0-2) by a final score of 10-9 on Saturday afternoon. Daly took a feed from teammate Katherine Athens to beat the Regis goalkeeper, and the Falcons were able to run out the rest of the clock to gain their third win of the season.

Ashleigh Kassab's four goals, including three in the first half, paced the Falcons offensively as the junior accounted for 40 percent of the team's scoring. Daly found the back of the net twice and four other Falcons recorded one goal each.

Erin Todd scored three times for the Rangers and both Maddie Garcia and Emily Behr finished with a goal and an assist on the afternoon.

The game was played about as closely as possible and the final stats reflected it. Pfeiffer held a narrow 21-20 advantage in shots and a 20-18 lead in ground balls. Regis committed 24 turnovers and Pfeiffer gave the ball away 23 times, while the Rangers took a 12-9 edge in draw controls.
