No. 2 Syracuse Closes with 5-0 Run to Defeat No. 15 Towson

Towson responded with back-to-back goals and took a 4-3 lead with 16:56 remaining in the first half. Duncan and sophomore attacker Alyssa Ferro each scored their second goal of the game during that stretch for the Tigers. Katie Webster scored a pair of goals, which sent Syracuse into the half with a 5-4 advantage.

The Orange outshot the Tigers 15-8 in the first half while each team controlled five draws. Junior goalkeeper Kelsea Donnelly made six first half saves for Towson.

The two teams each scored a goal through the first six plus minutes of the second half and Syracuse held a 6-5 lead with 24:24 to play in the game. Treanor's third goal gave the Orange a 7-5 lead with 24:11 on the clock.

Towson responded with a free position goal from freshman attacker Gabby Cha, which made it a 7-6 game with 21:58 to play. The Tigers tied the game at 7-7 with 14:56 to play as Raymond scored her second goal. However, that was the last goal of the game for the Tigers.

Syracuse scored five times in the final 11 minutes of action to claim the 12-7 victory.

The Orange finished the game with a 28-16 advantage in shots and won 11 of the game's 19 draw controls.

Alyssa Constantino earned the win in goal for the Orange. She came off the bench in the second half to make three saves. Donnelly made eight saves in the loss for the Tigers.

Raymond led the Tigers with five points on two goals and three assists. Duncan and Ferro each had two goals while Duncan had a team-best three draw controls.

Treanor led Syracuse with five goals and an assist while Webster finished with three goals.

Towson is back in action on Wednesday, Mar. 5 when it travels to Johns Hopkins for a 7:00 p.m. game.
