St. Andrews Falls to Indiana Tech

Laurinburg, NC- The St. Andrews lacrosse team lost a close battle with MCLA foe Indiana Tech on Saturday, as they fell 10-8 at home.

After the first quarter ended tied at 2, the Warriors (1-1) came out strong to score 5 goals in the 2nd while holding the Knights to just three to up their lead to 7-5 at halftime. To begin the second half, the teams still remained tied throughout the quarter at 2 apiece as Indiana Tech extended their lead to 9-7. St. Andrews would then cut the lead to one to start the fourth but the Warriors would tack on an insurance goal and hang on for the hard-fought win.

Sophomore midfielder Bryson Palmer (SO, Simpsonville, SC) led the Knights with 3 goals while senior midfielder Chris Michela (SR, Vienna, VA) had 2 goals and an assist. Also scoring in the game were sophomore attack Jason Wilson (SO, Hershey, PA), midfielder Nolan Gilmour (SO, Portland, OR) and sophomore Cha'Sed Miller (SO, Lexington, KY).

Leading in ground balls was Gilmour with 6 while senior Dugan McDermott (SR, Bainbridge Island, WA) had 4.

Goalie Will Chiasson (JR, Victoria, BC, Canada) also played well making 17 saves on 27 shots for a .63 save %.

St. Andrews falls to 0-3 on the year and will next be in action on Tuesday when they host conference foe Tennessee Wesleyan at 3:00 pm.
