No. 14 Simon Fraser Pulls Away to Shut Down No. 12 Oregon

UO freshman attack Blake Feist (Stockton, CA/St. Mary's), scored for Oregon to record only the second goal of the game at even strength for the Duck's and put a brief stop to the Clan battering at 11-5.

The Oregon momentum however, would be short lived as Clare put the Clan back in control at 12-5, initiating a final four-goal run over the games remaining minutes with goals by Kirkby, assisted by Spencer, followed by Knuttila, assisted by sophomore midfielder Matt Bailey (Richmond, BC/H.J. Cambie), and then Kirkby with a solo effort off of a feed from X to seal the lop-sided, early season upset.

Simon Fraser will be back in action this Friday, March 7 as they look to improve to 4-0 in divisional play when the Clan host University of Idaho (2-0, 1-0 PNCLL Division I) at 6:00 pm on SFU's Terry Fox Field.

Oregon headed back down south to play University of Washington this afternoon, where they escaped with a 14-12 win after leading 6-1 at the end of the first quarter. The Ducks will now continue home to host University of Utah on Tuesday, March 11.
