Alvernia Drops Deep Freeze Game to Arcadia

Reading, Pa (March 5, 2014) - A four-goal third quarter for Arcadia (2-1) lead the Knights to an 11-5 win against Alvernia (1-2) in a non-conference lacrosse game at a frozen Alvernia University.

The Knights started off strong, scoring three goals in the first quarter and shutting out the Crusaders. The Crusaders were within two at the half, but a dominant third quarter put the Knights ahead by five. Arcadia sealed the game with two goals in the fourth quarter, holding off Alvernia.

Junior Jared Toll (St. Catherines, Ontario/Lewisburg) led the Crusaders with two goals and one assist. Junior goalie Brandon Weaver (Shillington, Pa./Governor Mifflin) had 15 saves in net.

Arcadia sophomore attack-man, Chris Jacovino (Hauppauge N.Y./Hauppauge), led the Knights with four goals.

The Crusaders return to action on Saturday at 3:00 pm in a home match-up against Mount St. Vincent College. This game was originally scheduled as away.
