Top Teams at Cape Henlopen Girls Delmar/Mid Atl. Play-Day

The Cape Henlopen High School girls' lacrosse team, the defending Delaware state champions, will host a play day from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 15, 2014 at the school's field complex in Lewes. The fourth annual Delmar/Mid-Atlantic Lacrosse Play Day will be the most competitive and most prestigious girls' high school lacrosse competition in the United States this spring.

The top teams from the metropolitan areas of Baltimore, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C. and the Mid-Atlantic region were invited to come to the Delmarva Peninsula to compete with the two best teams from Delmarva.

The field is the most competitive ever at this play-day and contains the #1 and the #2 team in the LaxPower Final Coaches' Poll for 2013 as well as four other schools in the top 35: McDonogh School #1, Moorestown High School #2, Marriots Ridge High School #7, Georgetown Visitation School #15, Good Counsel High School #22, Broadneck High School #35.

Four teams that won state championships in 2013 are represented, one from Delaware and New Jersey and two from Maryland. Cape Henlopen High School, Delaware state champion, and Queen Anne's County High School, Maryland 3A/2A public school state championship semifinalist, round out the field of eight teams.
