No. 13 Notre Dame Prevails in Battle with Louisville

The Fighting Irish outscored the Cardinals 8-2 in the period, while also closing the gap on draw controls.

Notre Dame took its first lead of the game nine minutes into the half, tallying four-consecutive goals, before Boltja knotted the score at eight apiece with 20 minutes remaining. Boltja logged her fourth goal of the game Louisville's only other score in the period with four minutes remaining.

The Notre Dame offense, similar to its performance to open the half scored another four-unanswered goals for a 12-8 lead, while holding the Cardinals scoreless for a four-minute stretch.

Louisville finished the contest with a 17-6 advantage on the draw, while going 3 of 5 on free-position shots. The Cardinals totaled 10 of their 17 ground balls in the final period, thanks in large part to three each from Morissette, Daley, and Hefner.

Louisville returns to action with a mid-week contest at Canisius on Wednesday, March 12, in Buffalo, N.Y. First draw at Demske Sports Complex is at 11:00 a.m. ET.
