Reinhardt Sweeps Season Series from St. Andrews

Waleska, Ga.- St. Andrews lost their conference game with Reinhardt on Monday 15-11 as RU was able to complete the season sweep from the Knights.

St. Andrews was able to strike first to go up 1-0 on Cat Lovallo's goal as the team would go back and forth and was tied at 6 with 10 minutes to go. RU would then add on three more to go into halftime up 9-7 as they only outshot the Knights 19-16. St. Andrews would then get within one goal early in the second half at 10-9, but that would be the closest they would come as Reinhardt would tack on some insurance goals and lead heavily in shot count and possession to hang on for the win 15-11.

Lovallo led with 7 goals and 6 ground balls to increase her team leading goal total to 29 while senior Jackie Jones scored two and had 5 ground balls. Junior Risa Wautel added one goal, 4 ground balls and forced two turnovers while freshman Hunter Harrison had a goal, 2 ground balls and 2 caused turnovers.

Junior goalie Blake Forkner played well making 12 saves on 27 shots to help keep the knights in the game late but it was not enough as St. Andrews fell to 2-4 overall and 1-3 in the South with the loss while the Lady Eagles improved to 6-2 and 3-1. The Lady Knights are next in action Tuesday, March 18 at home to host Columbia College on senior day.
