Drew Defense Holds Down Centenary

MADISON, N.J. - Drew limited Centenary to five shots during a 12-1 non-conference lacrosse victory on Wednesday afternoon at Ranger Stadium.

The Rangers (2-2) scored 10 times during the opening half to break the game open. Theresa Shafron recorded three goals and dished out one assist, while Nikki Kleiman also tallied a four-point effort (2G, 2A) to pace Drew's offense.

Freshman Jessica Knolmajer (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) provided the lone goal for the Cyclones off a feed from sophomore Devin Sutko (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson) at the 14:15 mark of the first half. The goal was the first of Knolamjer's collegiate career.

Freshman Abby Voelkner (Denville, N.J./Morris Knolls) collected four of Centenary's 17 ground balls, while sophomore Kristen Rabenstein (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove) added three caused turnovers. Rabenstein entered the week ranked 20th in NCAA Division III, averaging 3.3 caused turnovers per game.

Centenary opens Colonial States Athletic Conference play on March 22 against Cabrini at 1:00 pm.
