Elizabethtown No Match for Undefeated Green Terror

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - Elizabethtown made its lone free position attempt count as Megan DeMichele scored her first career goal for the Jays in a 16-1 defeat to visiting McDaniel Wednesday afternoon at Wolf Field.

McDaniel (3-0) jumped out early, with five goals in the first ten minutes of the contest. The Green Terror also limited the Blue Jays (0-3) to just one shot in the opening half.

After Danielle Entrot increased McDaniel's lead to 11-0 in the second half, Addie Stang took the ensuing draw control and Elizabethtown advanced into the offensive end to try and get on the board.

DeMichele did just that for EC by taking her free position attempt and making it count, going top shelf to the left of McDaniel goalie Lily Galzerano for her first career collegiate goal.

The Green Terror scored the final five goals of the game for the final margin of victory.

Elizabethtown tied its season-best with 15 ground balls, with Stang and Krissy Pennell leading the way with three each. Emily Young and Dani Talenti both had a pair.

Young and Stang led the Jays defensively with two caused turnovers, while Becky Graessle and Stang each had two draw controls.

In goal, Beata Palosz stopped six Green Terror shots, one shy of her season-high.

The Blue Jays are back on Wolf Field this Saturday when they host Susquehanna for the first time as Landmark Conference opponents. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m.
