Syracuse Set to Host Florida in Top-Five Match on Saturday

Darcangelo Named Standout Sophomore
Sam Darcangelo has been named as one of 10 standout sophomores by Inside Lacrosse. Darcangelo, who is one of just three ALC players named to the list, has already registered impressive numbers this season. She ranks second on the team with 22 draw controls and 14 ground balls, while scoring 16 goals.

Barry Named ALC Offensive Player of the Week
Nora Barry was named the ALC Offensive Player of the Week (3/11) after she led No. 5 Florida's rally to a 14-13 victory over No. 12 Loyola, scoring both the tying and game-winning goals, with the final goal of the game finding the back of the net with 37 seconds left on the clock. Barry scored a total on five goals against the Greyhounds, while also picking up two ground balls and causing two turnovers. As the Gators picked up their first conference win over Michigan, 20-4, Barry scored two goals and added an assist to finish with three points. She also recorded three draw controls, including her 100th career draw control, and a ground ball.

Gators Move up to No. 4 in Polls
The University of Florida lacrosse team moved up one spot to No. 4 in both the IWLCA Poll and the Brine Media Poll this week. The moves follow Florida's come-from-behind 14-13 win over No. 12 Loyola and 20-4 defeat of ALC opponent Michigan this past week.

Among the teams remaining on Florida's schedule, there are four teams present in both the Brine Media Poll and IWLCA Poll: No. 2/3 Syracuse, No. 8/7 Northwestern, No. 14/9 Johns Hopkins and No. 11/12 Penn State; while Ohio State ranks 20th in the IWLCA poll.
