Louisville Smokes the Dragons with 11-Goal Run

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Drexel was defeated at Louisville on Saturday, 16-5. The Dragons scored first but allowed the Cardinals to score the game's next 11 goals before getting back on track. Amanda Norcini netted three goals for the Dragons, while Kelly Palace added two.

Drexel (4-4) got on the board first when Norcini scored less than five minutes into the game. That would prove to be the only Drexel goal of the first half, though, as Louisville took an 8-1 lead into the intermission. The Cardinals did most of their damage in the final 6:40 of the frame, scoring six goals in the ensuing 5:18 to grab control of the contest.

After the Cardinals netted three more to start the second half, the Dragons got back on the board when Palace raced in and scored unassisted at the 19:38 mark. She would add another just over two minutes later, but Louisville responded with four more to erase any hope of a Dragon comeback.

Norcini would score twice more over the game's final 10:02, including one off a Palace assist.

Drexel will return to action in eight days, on March 23 when the Dragons host New Hampshire. That game at Vidas Field is set for first draw at 12:00 p.m.
