No. 14 Pfeiffer Drops Tough Game to No. 13 New Haven

ANNAPOLIS, MD - No. 14 Pfeiffer (5-2) dropped a tough non-conference match-up to No. 13 New Haven (5-0) by a final score of 10-8 at Anne Arundel Community College on Sunday afternoon.

Kristi Korn got things started early for the Falcons as she scored two unanswered goals to begin the game. Ashleigh Kassab added to the Pfeiffer lead as she notched the Falcons third unanswered goal of the game.

New Haven responded with 4:53 left in the half as they connect on their first goal.

However, it was Kassab who would stretch the lead back to three as she scored her second goal of the game.

New Haven scored two unanswered to end the half, cutting the Pfeiffer lead to just one.

Stephanie Athens started the second half with a goal of her own to add to the Pfeiffer lead, a lead that would be challenged just one minute later as New Haven responds with their own goal.

Sarah Daly was up to the challenge as she ripped a shot to the top shelf, extending the lead to two once again for the Falcons.

New Haven responded by scoring three goals of their own to take the 7-6 lead with 22:32 left in the game, setting up for a dramatic ending.

Kassab finished the hat-trick as she notched the game at seven a piece with her third goal of the game just 22 seconds after New Haven took the lead.

Pfeiffer took the lead for the final time as Gracie Herbert scored with 16:15 left in the game to take the lead 8-7.

New Haven finished the game off by scoring three unanswered to down the Falcons in a heartbreaking loss.

Pfeiffer returns to action Wednesday, March 19 as they host Shippensburg at 3:00 p.m.
