Red Hawks Wing Their Way Past Blue Jays

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - Elizabethtown faced off with Montclair State Tuesday afternoon at Wolf Field in non-conference action. The Red Hawks, currently receiving votes in the latest IWLCA Division III Poll, proved why they are in the top tier of teams with 13 first-half goals en route to an 18-1 victory over Elizabethtown. Addie Stang scored the lone goal for the Blue Jays.

Aviana Paraggio scored for Montclair State (6-0) 18 seconds into the game and by the end of the first minute of play, the Red Hawks led 3-0.

Despite the 7-0 deficit, Elizabethtown (0-5) continued to battle and finally the hard work paid off as Stang tallied her team-leading third goal of the season on a free position shot with 17:28 remaining in the opening half. She led the Jays with a team-high three shots in the game.

MSU led 13-1 at the half, outshooting E-town 15-4 in the first 30 minutes of play.

Tori Lauder got her first career start in goal for the Blue Jays. She made two saves with one ground ball to her credit.

Dana Robidoux finished with a team-high three caused turnovers. Becky Graessle and Emily Young had one apiece to give the Jays five for the game.

Stang and Rachel Reed each had a pair of draw controls, while Krissy Pennell, Young, and Robidoux scooped up two ground balls each.

The women's lacrosse team heads on the road to face Goucher this Saturday, March 22, at 3:00 p.m.
