Cabrini Runs by Centenary in CSAC Opener

WASHINGTON, N.J. - Melissa Scanzano and Lacie Doubet combined for nine goals, helping Cabrini defeat Centenary 17-3 in the Cyclones' Colonial States Athletic Conference opener on Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore attacker Devin Sutko (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson) put Centenary on the board first with a free-position goal at the 26:34 mark of the first half, but Scanzano quickly answered with a pair of scores for the Cavaliers, igniting a string of 12-straight Cabrini goals.

Freshman Abby Voelkner (Denville, N.J./Morris Knolls) tallied her team-leading 10th goal of the year to make the score 13-2 at the half. Sutko added a second free-position goal midway through the second stanza.

Voelkner collected three ground balls and added four draw controls, while sophomore Kristen Rabenstein (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove) recorded two caused turnovers and four draw controls.

Sophomore goalkeeper Andrea Wisniewski (Lambertville, N.J./South Hunterdon) stopped nine shots in 46 minutes of action, while freshman Hannah Fisher (Levittown, Pa./Pennsbury) made three saves.

Centenary continues CSAC play on Tuesday against Immaculata at 4:00 pm.
