Pedroso Nets Six as Lebanon Valley Runs by La Roche

ANNVILLE, Pa. - Senior Malik Pedroso was unstoppable in the offensive zone to lead Lebanon Valley to a 17-7 win over La Roche at Arnold Field on Sunday afternoon.

Pedroso tallied six goals and three assists for nine points on the day as the Dutchmen completed the Crosse Out Cancer weekend sweep. LVC took care of Neumann in the first game on Saturday afternoon, 8-6.

This one was all Valley from start to finish as the Dutchmen raced out to a 5-0 lead on goals from five different LVC players. Pedroso, seniors Andrew Dennison, Alex Beard, and Matt Roupe, and freshman Austin Minnich all posted tallies in the opening quarter for LVC.

The Redhawks finally got on the board with two in the second period, but Lebanon Valley kept its offensive pressure on as three more in the second gave the Dutchmen an 8-2 edge going into the halftime break.

LVC continued its offensive onslaught in the second half, scoring four of the seven goals in the third period and notching four tallies in the fourth as well. Just five second-half markers for the Redhawks made the final, 17-7.

Along with Pedroso, junior Matt Lubawski, Beard, and Roupe also recorded multi-goal games with two scores apiece, while senior Jordan Mayr added a goal and two assists. Senior Kevin Krasely picked up his first win of the year in goal, making three saves.

On the other side, La Roche's Crawford Healy topped the attack with three goals, while Jean Thouin posted two goals and an assist. Eugene LaBorde was sensational between the pipes, making 21 saves in defeat.

The Valley held advantages in shots (56-23) and ground balls (62-37), and won 15 of 27 face-offs. LVC also forced the Redhawks into 31 turnovers on the afternoon.

The Dutchmen open Commonwealth Conference play on Wednesday, hosting Lycoming at 4:00 p.m.
